Follow our guide to do the laundry at home step by step:
– Read the labels s: if you want to keep your clothes as new for a long time and avoid accidents like the clothes fades or shrinks, then you cannot ignore the manufacturer’s labels. In them you will find information about the ideal washing conditions for each garment: by hand or by machine, maximum tolerated temperature, special colors, type of fabric, etc. With this information and the instructions of the different programs of your washing machine you will be able to keep your clothes in perfect condition. Remember that the labels that indicate “dry cleaning” belong to garments that require specialized cleaning in the dry cleaner.
- Order: before putting the washing machine, go over all the labels and order the laundry in several piles, depending on whether they are delicate garments, intense colors or simply require hand washing. Remember that, to keep the colors of your clothes alive, you will have to get used to washing them by colors, clearly separating the linen from the color at least.
– Order again: once you have separated the clothes by colors, if you have enough to put several washing machines, it is time to do so depending on the type of fabric. Separate synthetic fabrics and more resistant as jeans, other lighter as those of blouses, shirts and dresses. Avoid mixing fabrics in the washing machine that attract lint, such as velveteen or corduroy, with others that release fibers, such as wool.
– Choose a detergent: find your ideal detergent, with the aroma that you like, is a matter of experience. But what you have to look for is washing efficiency to save time and effort when doing the laundry. Therefore we recommend the range of liquid detergent Fleet, in all its varieties: detergent liquid Fleet Cologne, detergent liquid Fleet Marseille, detergent Liquid Talc Fleet Rosa and detergent liquid Artisanal Fleet.
– Select a temperature and wash cycle: select the wash program according to the characteristics of the laundry and the level of dirt. If the garments do not present important stains, it will be enough to program a cycle of cold water, which will also serve to avoid any incident with the clothes. Also, we recommend using hot water to ensure the hygiene of certain items such as underwear, sheets or towels. If not in all the washes, yes at least every two to disinfect it.
– Check the garments: before programming the washing cycle, check the garments for any unexpected spots that you should try. This way you will avoid having to wash your clothes again when you detect the stain when going to lay
- Load the washing machine: introduce the garments in the drum one by one, trying not to pelt the garments so that they wash well. Do not force the capacity and keep in mind that you should always leave a space so that the water runs between the garments and wash everything equally. In addition, we recommend that you wash items with special fabrics such as corduroy, knit (to avoid rubbing), embroidery, silk-screen printing, decorations with beads and dark colors, especially in denim fabrics.
- Discharge the washing machine: once the washing program is finished, remove the clothes from the drum quickly to avoid accumulating moisture odor. In addition, by acting quickly we will prevent many wrinkles from being fixed on the garments, which will save us ironing time.
- Load the dryer / tends: if you have a dryer, enter the garments depending on the type of fabric (lightweight on the one hand, heavy on the other) and at the right temperature. If you do not have one of these devices, tend the clothes outdoors on the line trying to extend and separate the garments from each other to favor drying. During the winter, take advantage of the sunny hours for the clothes to dry. In summer, try to tend in the shade to avoid discoloration of the tissues.
- Fold dry clothes: once the clothes have dried, it is time to pick them up, but not in any way. The ideal thing is to fold the garments carefully, whether they are intended for the iron or the drawer. This way we will avoid storing them in piles for the iron, causing them to wrinkle more.
